Dedication
This site is dedicated to the memory of Freddie Mack aka Mr Superbad who his career began in 1950′s at the Helsinki Olympics with his childhood friend Floyd Patterson winning the “silver medal”. He endured thorough the Hollywood of the 1960′s where he rubbed shoulder with Rex Harrison and Richard Burton and gathered friends like Billy Walker and survived the Krayys till he encounters the disco lights of the 1970′s. In the 1990′s he re-emerged as a radio dJ on radio Clyde and continued until his death to entertain and delight his audience.
He loved music more than anything else and this love and his respect for boxing (he once meet Mohammed Ali when he was still Cassius Clay)meant he never lost his enthusiasm or his joy in performing.
Some of his last words to me were “so my dancing days are over” and I know he felt that loss most of all. He began his journey in the cotton fields of South Carolina and ended them in the heather of Scotland.
So this site is dedicated to a man whose incredible personality was impossible to forget, affected everyone he met, wasnt perfect but changed you if your had the time to reallly be with him. Sometimes for the better some times not.
He is greatly missed and this website is a tribute to his achievment. He was not a saint but he was indisputably human.
I will miss him for the rest of my life.
